Nationality / Luxembourg / Residency on passive income Where you can live on an income from abroad if your passport is from Luxembourg One question, every country, with your nationality already applied. In 2 of them something is written that changes the answer for you; in the other 48 the general rule is what you get, and that is the answer rather than a gap. Every line is that country’s own record.

reaches you through Nationals of the Union and the wider Economic Area
The general rule it sits on
Czechia has no passive-income or self-sufficiency residence category. Section 30(1) of Act No. 326/1999 Sb. looks generous - a long-stay visa is granted to a foreign national who intends to stay for a purpose requiring a stay longer than three months - and the Act never lists what those purposes may be. Section 42(1) then converts that visa into a long-term residence permit after a year, but only while the same purpose continues. What closes the gap is not the statute but the Ministry of the Interior, whose portal says in terms that not every purpose can be a ground for granting a long-stay visa, and whose own index of long-stay visas and long-term residence permits names family, business, study, seasonal work, medical treatment, sport, research, culture, further education, investment, the intra-corporate transfer cards, the employee card and the blue card - and nothing for a person who simply has money. Money is still a condition of every one of them: section 31(1) requires evidence of the purpose, of funds under section 13, and of accommodation.
Greece Verified with official source Monitor - can change2026-10-10 Sufficient Resources and Sickness Cover, Measured Against the Greek Minimum Pension and Declared Without a Figure
reaches you through Nationals of the Union and the wider Economic Area
The general rule it sits on
Greece's route for someone who is not coming to work is paragraph 8 of article 163 of Law 5038/2023, the catch-all article of the Immigration Code: a residence permit of type I.8 for third-country nationals with sufficient resources, granted by the Secretary of the Decentralised Administration where the applicant has sufficient means at the level of a stable annual income to cover living costs. The permit runs for three years and is renewable for the same period. Family members may accompany the holder and the resources condition may be met by each of them separately or by all of them together. The permit gives no right to employment or to independent economic activity of any kind, for the holder or for the spouse or partner or the family. The amount is not in the statute: article 176(1) leaves the supporting documents for every category of permit to a joint ministerial decision, and the figure lives there. The nearest route with a number on its face is the digital nomad title of article 68, where the Code itself fixes sufficient resources at 3,500 euro a month.
Where the general rule applies to you unchanged Nothing is recorded in these that treats a citizen of Luxembourg differently on this question, so what follows is what everyone gets.
