Children and Grandchildren of a Spaniard of Origin Get Their Own Job-Seeker Visas

Answer

The general rule applies to you

No exception is recorded for citizens of Antigua and Barbuda on this topic. That is the answer, not a gap - everything below is the rule you get, unchanged.

91 exceptions recorded across 34 countries · none match Antigua and Barbuda to Spain · Residency through ancestry

Spain's ancestry route in the immigration Reglamento is not a residence permit but a visa to come and look for work. Article 44 has the annual collective-hiring order set aside a number of job-seeker visas for children and grandchildren of a Spaniard of origin, and records why they can be set aside: article 40 of the Ley Orgánica 4/2000 exempts them from the assessment of the national employment situation. How many, who is selected and how applications are made is left to that ministerial order each year.

What the law says

The whole article. It creates a quota and hands every number in it to an annual order, so this record can state the route and not its size.

About this source

Spain's official state gazette, which also publishes consolidated texts carrying their own amendment history.

Standing: Issues the instrument

Cannot be cited for: A deadline set by Council of Ministers decision rather than written into a statute will not appear in the consolidated text at all, which is exactly the case with the Democratic Memory Law's option period. The statute gives the mechanism; the date that mattered to applicants lives in a separate decision we have not read.

Practical notes

The route that matters more to most readers with a Spanish grandparent is nationality rather than residence, and that is in the Civil Code and in the democratic memory legislation, neither of which is read on this record.

Everything quantitative here lives in a ministerial order published each year. Without it this record cannot say how many visas exist or when they are applied for.
