Parliamentary Counsel's Office, NSW legislation website

Maintains the text in force

The statute book of New South Wales. It serves Acts and statutory instruments as in force, point in time, and as made, and every page prints its own currency line - Current version for <date> to date - plus the date and time the page was generated. Addressing is by identifier: act-2013-018 is the Road Transport Act 2013, sl-2017-0450 the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulation 2017. The whole instrument is at /view/whole/html/inforce/current/<id>; the plain /view/html/ address serves only the navigation frame.

Maintains the current text of the law as amended, so you can read a provision as it stands today rather than reconstructing it from amendments.

Cannot be cited for

The default /view/html/ address returns a shell with a title and no text, which reads as an instrument of 1,500 characters rather than as a failure; only /view/whole/ carries the provisions. The site's search is driven by JavaScript and returns nothing to a fetcher, so an instrument cannot be found here by name - the identifier has to come from somewhere else, usually a cross-reference inside another instrument. Direct requests from outside a browser are refused with 403. It is a source for New South Wales only: nothing on it states the law of another State, of a Territory or of the Commonwealth.
