Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel, Queensland Legislation

Maintains the text in force

The statute book of Queensland. Acts and subordinate legislation are addressed by identifier - act-1995-009 is the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995, sl-2021-0112 the Transport Operations (Road Use Management-Driver Licensing) Regulation 2021 - and the whole instrument is served at /view/whole/html/inforce/current/<id>. Every page carries the currency line and the amendment notes against each provision, naming the amending instrument and its date.

Maintains the current text of the law as amended, so you can read a provision as it stands today rather than reconstructing it from amendments.

The way in is the hard part and three routes do not work. The site's search returns a page with no result area at all, even when its own form is filled and submitted inside a browser. The alphabet buttons on /browse/inforce resolve to /act/title/<letter>, which the server answers with its own Unknown page requested. And an identifier that does not exist is answered with a styled Page not found rather than an error a tool can read, so a wrong guess at a number looks like a short document. What does work is the register's own legislative tables: /tables/pubactsif for Acts in force and /tables/siif for subordinate legislation in force, each generated by pressing Generate table, after which every title on the page carries its identifier as a link. That is how act-1995-009 was found after act-1995-076 had been guessed and had 404ed. It is a source for Queensland only, and not for the Commonwealth, whose instruments are on the Federal Register of Legislation.
